| Customer Reviews: Worthless and Dangerous July 12, 2010 Kyung Yang (Flushing, NY) I purchased this item thinking it was good enough for the price, but it broke length-wise on the first cast. To try this item out, I took it to the pier and cast a 2oz and reeled it back. After which I noticed pain in my hand and tiny splinters embedded in my skin that cannot be removed without medical attention. On further inspection, I noticed that the shaft connection between the main and second shaft was loose and that the main shaft had splint length-wise creating tiny strand of glass along the length of the split. Mind you, this was the first cast and there was no stress on this pole aside from the reeling in of a 2oz weight. Considering this is a recreational item, the seller's 7 day return policy is laughable as it is an item people prep. I thought I was buying a cheap utility pole, but it turned out to be a cheap piece of worthless turd. This item is a danger hazard considering the way it break and especially not fit for use by children who may try to fix or continue working with the glass splinters exposed as not to ruin their first day of fishing. To summarize: will crack in an unsafe manner exposing strands and splinters of glass. The seller is lucky I am not the type to sue for glass splinters.
Change of Heart, Money Saver, tough... June 28, 2010 nomad4545 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Seller made correction on description, sold wrong rod to me.
Received Saltwater Rod, more tough in the feel and design, stood up to my 2 oz weight and works well. I recommend this for the Fisherman who swings from both sides of the water. I freshwater and Saltwater fish, "Great" for compact design, strength is good for telescopic rod and seems to be a great product. I have to test it over time, if I pull a Saltwater Bass or Large mouth Bass of good size with this Rod, it will be posted. I'm pleased with the Seller's insight and his 100% customer satisfaction belief. Thank You!!!!
Good things come in small packages November 14, 2009 The Brickster (Barrington, RI) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This rod and reel came really quickly. The rod is good in that it folds down to a good size for kayaking. The upper tip is a little worriesome in that it looks a little cheap. The retraction of the rod is more loose than I would like but wont know until I test it in open water. The reel is a basic reel which I will likely trade out. On the whole it met my expectations for my use. I was not looking for a fantastic product but one that was functional and I could not find a saltwater version out there. We will see how it performs in the spring.
